Episode 7. Jews vs The British Media

In this episode, Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich and Phil Dave are joined by Broadcasters & Journalists, Jonny Gould and Jonathan Sacerdoti. They explore what role the British media has played in the the rise in anti-Jewish hate crimes. In particular, they look at how the news reports on the situation in the Middle East and if they over emphasis the plight of the people of Gaza whilst overlooking what Israel goes through. Episode 6. The Rise In Antisemitism

In this episode, Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich and Phil Dave are joined by Rabbi Gary Somers and Imogen Resnick co-chair of Kehillah North London Synagogue. They discuss the rise in anti-Jewish hate crimes. In particular, they explore how much of it comes down to more awareness and they look at what should we as a community do to help tackle it.

Episode 5. The Kosovo War

In this episode, Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich and Phil Dave are joined by Survivor & Vice-President of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosova, Saranda Bogujevci and Reverend Bruce Thompson, the Chair of the Lincolnshire Methodist District. They discuss the subject of the Kosovo War and look at the similarities with Jewish history. In particular, they hear a fascinating account of what life was like in, not only the build up but also during the infamous conflict. We also hear about some of the extraordinary work done to try and help those fleeing from the horrors and how the smallest of gestures had the biggest of impacts.

Episode 4. The Israel-Hamas Conflict

In this episode, Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich and Phil Dave are joined by Rabbi Leah Jordon of Kehillah North London and Rabbi Yael Vorgan of Sha’ar Ha’negev regional community. They discuss the subject on most Jews’ minds at the moment – the war between Israel and Hamas. In particular, they look at the importance of empathy for innocent people on both sides of the conflict. As you can imagine, tensions run high in this unmissable edition.

In this episode, Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich and Phil Dave are joined by Dr Narine Ghazaryan, Assistant Professor of International and European Law at Radbound University. They discuss the little known region of Nagorno Karabakh and how the area’s story compares to our own community’s battle for land. This is a fascinating discussion that really highlights one of the most little-known territories in the world.

What responsibility do Jews have in helping resolve the conflict between Russia and Ukraine? Rabbi Tanya Sakhnovich and Phil Dave are joined by esteemed guest who share their experiences of the war.
