Young Families

Edgware & Hendon Reform Synagogue welcome you join our Young Families Community. Our Young Families programme runs events, groups and support for you and your little ones. Get involved to give your little munchkins a taste of our wonderfully welcoming and fun family events, a fantastic opportunity to meet other young Jewish Families. We work closely with our Education Director, Youth Workers, Nagila nursery and of course our Rabbis to make every meeting special for the whole family.

Family Camping Weekend 2022

Family Camping Weekend
Friday 8 – Sunday 10 July 2022

We are so excited for our Family Camping Shabbat weekend. The weekend promises a unique outdoors Shabbat experience led by Rabbi Debbie.

The weekend will include:
– A relaxed, informal time to switch off and connect with each other
– A Friday Night BBQ
– Informal & Interactive Shabbat Services
– Saturday night Havdalah around the fire pit
– Sunday morning cooked breakfast
– Inclusive farm entry
– Lots of free time to explore the site and use the Adventure playground
– Activities for the children
– All main meals catered

Booking & Payment information
If you would like to join us please make sure you book asap to ensure the campsite has space as it will fill up fast.
We are asking families to please book their pitches themselves through the campsite website (the price will vary depending on the makeup of your family).
We kindly ask each family to contribute £40* towards food, drinks and resources for the weekend. Once booked we will be in touch nearer the time with more information on what to bring etc.
(*we never want finances to be a barrier to participating with EHRS, please be in touch for a confidential conversation if this is the case and we will happily support with costs to ensure your family can be involved)

Shabbat Club

Shabbat Club
Saturday mornings, 11:15

A monthly Shabbat experience for up to 11 year olds to enjoy Parasha and Shabbat themed activities, stories and songs.

Under 5 year olds must be accompanied by an adult.

Finishing in time to join the community for Kiddush around 12:15.

’Chumash Babies’ , a sensory Shabbat experience for babies and their families.

Join us for a sensory music session exploring the five senses, followed by a catered breakfast Kiddush.

(runs during term time)

Join us for a morning of fun and creativity at our Shabbat Stay & Play, for babies and toddlers. There will be singing, toys, a lovely Kiddush and refreshments. We welcome parents, carers and grandparents. This will run weekly. Booking required.

Donation: EHRS Members £2 per child, Non Members £4 per child, £1 extra per sibling

Kuddle Up Shabbat

On these dates, Kuddle Up Shabbat will be held in person at EHRS. You will need to book in on the Synagogue website or call the Synagogue office. You are welcome to arrive from 15:45 for a Shul playdate before Kuddle Up begins.

We return to the woods, following the success and popularity of last year event in Stanmore Common.

Building Sulkat Shalom (shelters of peace) out of whatever we can find to help us feel safe in the New Year. Stories & Snacks!

Tea & Tots Events (Sundays dates to be confirmed)

An afternoon or morning of entertainment for the little ones (older siblings welcome) much needed refreshments for parents and carers, and an opportunity to meet other young Jewish families.

Suggested donation of £5 per family.

Young Families - Tea with Tots 2

Tea & Tots Festival Fun

 

 

A similar structure to our regular tea and tots, but themed around celebrating calendar festivals. These ‘sold out’ events welcome the whole family, including grandparents! and have extra special entertainment. Our most recent Chanukah and Purim events saw over 100 attendees, and were hugely enjoyed by all.

At these sessions we will be making challah, candlesticks and candles, chollah cloths and cookies.
