Reverend Bruce Thompson in Conversation
Saturday 28 January, 9:15-10:15

Please join Reverend Bruce Thompson, the Chair of the Lincolnshire Methodist District, and Rabbi Tanya for a conversation & study session before the Shabbat Morning Service.

In the session Rev. Bruce Thompson will talk about his life and his relationship with Judaism and the Jewish community of the UK, which led to writing his book about the history of Judeophobia in the Church. The book he wrote is called “Echoes of Contempt” and is available on all online booksellers and there will be copies available on the day.

In the second half of our session we will talk about the history of anti-semitism and Rev. Bruce will answer the questions submitted to him beforehand or on the day.

If you have a question for Rev. Bruce please email it to Rabbi Tanya on rabbi.tanya@ehrs.uk

The Revd Bruce Thompson has been actively engaged in Jewish Christian relations for much of his 37-year-long ministry. He is a strong advocate for raising awareness of centuries-long Church hostility toward Judaism. His book Echoes of Contempt, charts that history and identifies similarities in contemporary antisemitism. The work also highlights the complicity of the Church in the Shoah. Bruce is a Methodist Minister and co-founder and Chair of Methodist Friends of Judaism.
