Mitzvah Day – Sunday 15 November
On Mitzvah Day, we give our time, not our money, to make a difference to the community around us.

Bake a Cake
After the fantastic response you our EHRS community gave to our request to make a honey cake for Rosh Hashanah, we can tell you how welcome these were when we delivered over 80 to our more isolated and vulnerable members. We are inviting you to ‘Bake a Cake’ with Rabbi Debbie and EHRS members. This event will be on Zoom at 10:00. The idea is that the cake you bake will be donated to someone in the EHRS community who we think needs a lift of spirits at this time, by showing that EHRS cares.
To register your interest to participate in this event and receive Zoom details please email education@ehrs.uk, we will then send you the list of the ingredients and resources needed. This event is open to everyone in our community.

If you can’t join us for this event, if you wish to, we would still love your cake donations. You can make any cake, even cupcakes (as long as all cakes are nut free) They will need to be wrapped in either cling film or tin foil with a list of ingredients attached. It would be lovely to put a sticker on them to say who it is from. If you wish to make a cake, please let us know by Monday 9 November and we will give you the name of the person/family that you are making the cake for who lives in your area. If you are able to deliver the cake to that person that would be really helpful, but if you are unable to please drop the cake off at EHRS either on Friday 13 or Sunday 15 November between 9:30 -12:30 and we will ensure that it gets delivered.

If you don’t feel like baking but want to do something, then please consider buying a cake or a box of chocolate or nice biscuits for distribution – this little act of kindness will mean so much to the recipient. Again if you can deliver it to the person living in our area please get in touch email education@ehrs.uk. Obviously, all volunteers who deliver will need to be mindful of social distancing.
