Parashat Tazria-Metzora – The Meaning of Impurity: These Torah portions deal with those whose temporary life situation makes them unable to participate in the ritual of the Mishcan, the desert temple. They are considered tamei, impure. Rabbi Roberta Harris-Eckstein looks into what this term means and what is left over from these ideas in Judaism today.
