Saturday 15 July, 9:15-10:15
In person and on Zoom

Parashat Matot-Masei: The journey is a unifying element of the book of Numbers. Professor Freedman thinks that “it functions both through time (by its chronology of events) and space (by the geographical placement of the events along the route of travel) to organise the episodes into a related story.

Why is the plural form of the word “journey” then used in Parashat Masei, when it tells just a part of one big journey? What makes this Parashah not as dramatic or exciting as some other Parashat? Journey is an interesting word. We will talk about our life journeys as well.

We will read some Hebrew and examine some Hebrew words but no knowledge of Hebrew is required for this session.

With Rabbi Tanya.
