Teaching Arabic to today’s Israeli Students
Wednesday 17 November, 19:30-21:00

We often admire the ability of young Israelis to speak perfect English. But how is their Arabic? A fifth of Israel’s citizens are first language Arabic speakers as are the peoples of the Israel’s surrounding countries.

On this evening we will hear directly from Shuruk Awad and Samach Sach in Israel, who are both Arab teachers of Arabic in Israeli Jewish High schools.

We will also hear from Mike Prashker from Merchavim which campaigns for and promotes the teaching of Arabic in Israel and from Mandie Winston, Chief Executive of UJIA, which helps to fund them. Why are they prioritising this work?
