Rabbi Neil Kraft Memorial Scroll programme
Sunday 14 March, 11:00-12:15

Please join us on Zoom as we launch our Rabbi Neil Kraft Memorial Scroll programme.  This is taking place the day before Rabbi Kraft’s yahrzeit.

We will be joined on Zoom by Bernard Benarroch, certified sofer (scribe), who has kindly agreed to show us around his workshop. He will show us a range of Torah Scrolls, mezuzot, tefillin and much more besides. As you know, we are in the process of fundraising in order to commission a new Torah Scroll in Rabbi Kraft’s name, and Mr Benarroch has helped us greatly in that endeavour. Bernard will also be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding the work of a sofer. We are also delighted that student rabbi, Eleanor Davis will give us ‘A Taste of Torah’. There will also be video clips from people who will share their personal memories of Rabbi Kraft and finally Rabbi Mark Goldsmith will take us into the EHRS Ark and talk to us about the history of some of the Scrolls that we already have.

Please look out for the Zoom link in forthcoming Our Week Ahead emails, or email admin@ehrs.uk.

The Synagogue Council has agreed that it would like to commission a Torah Scroll in Rabbi Kraft’s name, as a lasting memorial to this much loved rabbi. We very much want contributions for this Scroll to come from our community and from friends of Rabbi Kraft. This would ensure that on any occasion we entered the sanctuary during a Shabbat or a Chag and saw this Scroll especially written to honour Rabbi Kraft’s name that we would appreciate that the donations had come directly from the community he served for nearly 20 years.
