The Rabbi Michael Leigh z’’l Memorial Lecture 5785
Wednesday 30 July, 19:30-21:00 at EHRS

Every year EHRS jointly hosts a lecture together with the Yitzchak Rabin B’nai Brith Lodge on the Yarzheit of our former Rabbi from 1963-1993, Michael Leigh z’l.

This year our lecture will be given by Paul Anticoni on ‘Humanitarian Aid in a Fractured World’.

Issues around humanitarian aid have been central to world affairs this year in the many war zones around the world and Paul can help us to understand the challenges and dilemmas that are faced wherever it is required. Paul has been the Chief Executive of World Jewish Relief since 2006. World Jewish Relief is the Jewish community’s humanitarian agency. Inspired by Jewish values, they provide life-saving and life-changing action to people in crisis from within and beyond the Jewish community. Working with trusted local partners, World Jewish Relief supports people suffering the consequences of conflict, disaster and climate change, helping them to rebuild their lives. Before his work with World Jewish Relief, Paul was for twelve years, a professional leader of the disaster response operations worldwide for the British Red Cross, prior to which he lived and worked in east Africa, Cambodia and the Balkans.

As always the Rabbi Michael Leigh z’’l lecture will give plenty of opportunity for your questions to our speaker.

Hosted by Rabbi Mark Goldsmith.
