Celebration of the Torah Scroll in memory of Rabbi Neil Kraft z’l
Sunday 11 September, 11:00

The Torah Scroll, which we commissioned in the name of Rabbi Neil Kraft z’l is now on Shul premises, and we are delighted to invite our members to a siyyum (celebration of a new scroll).

As a mark of respect on the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II the procession that we had planned from Stonegrove Park with our new Torah Scroll will not now take place and so the entire event will begin at 11:00 at EHRS.

At EHRS, Sofer Marc Michaels, along with Synagogue members will complete the writing of those letters which are still incomplete.

There will be various stalls at the Synagogue, and Lana Young who is designing the new Torah mantles will explain the process behind creating these mantles; Rabbi Mark Goldsmith will discuss the history of our Scrolls and it is hoped that Avielah Michaels will talk to us about the tools needed to write a Torah Scroll.

This couldn’t be an EHRS event without refreshments and there will be plenty available!!

Clearly, we want as many of you as possible to attend this event, it may be the only opportunity we ever have to witness the completion of the writing of a Torah, so please put the date in your diary, and email sharon.price@ehrs.uk and let her know a) whether you will meet at the park or at EHRS and b) how many people you are bringing.

We look forward to seeing you.
