Edgware & Hendon Reform Synagogue welcome you join our Young Families Community. Our Young Families programme runs events, groups and support for you and your little ones. Get involved to give your little munchkins a taste of our wonderfully welcoming and fun family events, a fantastic opportunity to meet other young Jewish Families. We work closely with our Education Director, Youth Workers, Nagila nursery and of course oursClergy team to make every meeting special for the whole family.

The evening will consist of a musical family service led by Rabbi Tanya with our incredible Accapella Choir! Followed by a Pizza & Chip dinner and ice cream bar provided by EHRS. We just ask you to please bring a side to share.
As last time, expect some crazy interactive entertainment for all the family led by our Youth Workers. The dinner is perfect for families with children in school years 1-6 (younger and older siblings and extended family welcome)

A sensory Shabbat experience for your five senses
This is a special Shabbat experience for our very youngest children, their parents, siblings and grandparents. It brings together baby sensory play and Jewish ways of experiencing the wonder of Shabbat for a delightful half hour with Cantor Tamara and Sarah Koster.
Followed by a Shabbat brunch to help us all get to know each other.
We are delighted to announce that this year we will be returning to Wellington Country Park for our yearly Family Camping Shabbaton. Just an hour away from EHRS in Riseley, near Reading. https://wellingtoncountrypark.co.uk/
A unique Shabbat experience with Rabbi Debbie & other families, surrounded by the wonderful outdoors. We will come together to bring in Shabbat with a Friday night BBQ, enjoy an inclusive outdoors Shabbat morning service, and see out Shabbat together with a Havdalah fire pit. (marshmallows mandatory!).
With plenty of free time… you will have 24hr access to the country park included in the camping fee. The park is perfect for children and the whole family, with huge adventure playgrounds, an enchanted forest, splash park, indoor soft play, mini golf, dinosaur trail, sandpits etc. as well as beautiful woodland walks and lake trails. There really is so much to do, hence why we just needed to return!

A music & sensory class for babies – 1 year olds, followed by chill out time in our brand new state of the art Senitt Sensory Room! Join us each week as we have fun exploring different themes such as; transport, the weather, space, animals, Jewish festivals and more!

Join us for a morning of fun and creativity at our Shabbat Stay & Play, for babies and toddlers. There will be singing, toys, a lovely Kiddush and refreshments. We welcome parents, carers and grandparents. This will run weekly. Booking required. Attending sessions can be counted towards Jewish school application CRP collection.

A monthly Shabbat experience for up to 11 year olds to enjoy Parasha and Shabbat themed activities, stories and songs. Under 5 year olds must be accompanied by an adult. Finishing in time to join the community for Kiddush around 12:15.

Our special interactive Shabbat service for Primary aged children and their siblings. Songs and a joyful start to Shabbat, with a lovely Kiddush. Selection of toys for the children and hot drinks available for the adults. Early arrival is optional from 15.45. Come straight from school pick up, or just arrive early to play before the service. You can collect CRP points from attending.

Torah Time, 10:45-11:15
Join us for this interactive storytelling experience with music and activities. Followed by a mini Kiddush and schmooze. This service is ideal for ages 4-10.
Occurs on the 1st Shabbat of the month.
Build a Bible, 10:45-11:15
Get creative with all different types of construction to explore the week’s Torah portion. Followed by a mini Kiddush and schmooze. This service is ideal for ages 4-10.
Occurs on the 3rd Shabbat of the month.
For parents/carers of children with additional support needs and/or disabilities that affect life at home and/or in school. A safe space where you can meet other parents in the community, share experiences, talk about challenges and strategies, and support each other.
This group occurs monthly and is facilitated by Miriam Saffer, a consultant in inclusion and special educational needs with more than 10 years’ experience in education and inclusion across primary, secondary and further education settings.
