Every year EHRS jointly hosts a lecture together with the Yitzchak Rabin B’nai Brith Lodge on the Yarzheit of our former Rabbi from 1963-1993, Michael Leigh z’l.

Presenting a Critique on The ‘Dignity of Difference’ by Jonathan Sacks – How to Avoid The Clash of Civilisations

Starting with our traditional candle lighting ceremony and an introduction by Malcolm Factor. Chaired by Rabbi Mark Goldsmith.

Martin has been President of First Lodge of England, the founding B’nai B’rith Lodge in Britain, for 7 years. The whole of his professional career since the 1950’s, has been interspersed with his voluntary work in mental health and interfaith work in and beyond the Jewish Community. Through his professional and voluntary work he has received many awards and commendations. In August 1989 Martin co-founded Jami the Jewish Community’s Mental Health Charity. He was Founder Chair for the charity’s first thirteen years and remains Honorary Life President.
