Shabbat Vayishlach: Kissing or Biting? Our ta’amim or singing notes often function as a commentary on the torah portion (as they do this week when Jacob and Esau reunite and in the brotherly hug our singing notes suggest something more sinister!) We will explore this and other areas of commentary in the Torah’s musical notation and scribal traditions. With Rabbi Debbie.
